Is there WIFI and signal?

Guess what? No, there isn’t! This may even be one of the only places in the world left that doesn’t have WIFI?! We joke - but we do think it’s a good thing for those really wanting to disconnect from the world and re-connect with loved ones and the beautiful setting. We therefore ask you really take note of the directions before you leave the town centre. We are off-grid in a remote, rural location.

Are the domes heated?

The domes are not heated, hence we do close during the winter months. Our operating months are mid-October until mid-April. However, our recent renovations including insulated flooring, new doors and windows have made a difference. We also supply a number of blankets and hot water bottles to keep toasty warm and recommend you bring suitable clothing to layer up. Our New Zealand weather can change very quickly!

Is there a hot shower and flushing toilet?

Yes, we have portable ‘Glamper Camper’ trailers which host a private bathroom including a full size shower, hot shower and a flushing cassette toilet. Please note, these are like caravan or camper facilities - the water will run out if you shower for too long!

How far away is the site from Queenstown?

The scenic drive from Queenstown town centre will usually take about 20-25 minutes depending on the traffic, which is dependent on the time of year. It is a gravel road to the domes so we do recommend driving carefully and ideally, a 4WD. If you have a rental car, please check your terms and conditions and if they are permitted on gravel tracks. Please note, we are off-grid in a remote, rural location.

What cooking facilities are there?

Both sites have a kitchen utility unit ideal to prep your food and a ‘Glamper Camper’ trailer which also hosts a kitchenette facility with gas hobs and sink. We also supply everything you need - crockery, glassware, cutlery, cooking utensils, basic condiments and a BBQ to cook up a feast! Both sites also benefit form mini fridge/ freezer to keep your items cold.

Are pets allowed?

Unfortunately, with it being a working sheep farm, we don’t want to scare them away! Therefore, pets aren’t allowed. We’re sorry!

Is it suitable for children?

Absolutely! We think nature is the best environment for children! As our domes have a queen bed and king single sofa bed, we can accommodate up to 2 adults and 2 children under 12. We can also arrange a portacot.

All additional guests after 2 per dome are charged additionally. Our young guests have such a great experience and generally love the adventure.

What time is check-in and check-out?

Check-in is available anytime from 3:00pm. We recommend arriving no later than 8:00pm, and ideally between 4:00–5:00pm, so you can enjoy the views and settle in before dark.

Most guests arrive at their leisure. However, if you’d like us to meet you on arrival and show you the facilities, please let us know your arrival time in advance before the day of arrival.

Check-out is at 10:00am.
Due to our booking schedule, we’re generally unable to offer early check-ins or late check-outs — thank you for your understanding.

How does the ‘Glamper Camper’ work?

Both Seffers Dome and Moonlight Domes has a ‘Glamper Camper.’ From 1st March 2026, Moonlight Domes will each have their own ‘Glamper Camper’ with bathroom and kitchenette. These each have a 180-litre water tank which is replenished daily by us. They run off solar for lighting and gas heats the water which is also used for the gas hobs in the kitchenette. If we are not meeting you on arrival, please read the instructions in the welcome book located in the domes as there are things to note with regards to using the facilities during your stay.

What does off-grid mean?

Off-grid means we are not on a main supply of power, water, gas or sewerage. This means our domes are powered by solar, our water is on a 180-litre tank replenished daily, our gas is supplied by gas bottles, our toilets are portable cassette style toilets like a caravan or camper and our ‘Glamper Campers’ have a waste tank. As part of your experience at Glam Camping, we take care of all of this, so you don’t have to!

What do we need to bring?

Most importantly, a sense of adventure! Whilst we have provided creature comforts, please remember, this is still a camping experience and we are located rurally on a working sheep farm. You will need clothes, we recommend items to layer up, and some sturdy shoes. Bring your favourite camping food or add on one of our delicious DIY food boxes. Everything else is waiting for you to enjoy!

Can we have a fire?

Unfortunately, no. Fires pose a massive risk to the local farmland and the winds can change very quickly! Fires are strictly prohibited as it smoking.
